Jason brings with him a passion for worship and a great desire to see teenagers come to Christ and grow as committed followers of Jesus.  He is a man called of God and the church’s welcome was a wonderful confirmation that the Lord has led him to be a part of our church ministry staff.

Jason leads and oversees our church worship ministry with all its intricate pieces related to sound, projection, staging, enlisting musicians and vocalists, worship planning, etc.  In the Student (Youth) Ministry, Jason will be responsible for monthly activities, Way Out Wednesday meetings, Youth Camps, Youth Mission Trips and will oversee the work of our Youth Department.  In addition, Jason assists our pastor with counseling, visitation, preaching and administration.

A special blessing is having his wife Angela as a part of our church family!  Angela has demonstrated a sweet spirit and strong support for Jason.  She has a genuine love for the Lord and His people.  Pastor Jason and Angela have three precious children, Caelyn (age 6), Aliyah (age 4), and Judah (age 1).

The Buss family were called from Bakersfield, California where Pastor Jason served at Valley Baptist Church as well as Rock Harbor Church.  In 2008 Pastor Jason graduated from the Master’s University where he studied Christian ministries. The knowledge Pastor Jason has shared and continues to share with our Youth, and congregation has been that of the Bible and a true blessing to each and all.

Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love... Eph 4:1-2

What a privilege it is to be serving the Lord at First Baptist!  Coming from California to Ohio had the potential to be a difficult transition.  But with God’s grace and     the loving disposition of the church we’ve truly been welcomed home.  God has been so faithful and I know the He has great things in store for First Baptist as we  continue to seek Him by disciplining believers and reaching the lost.
